Description
Description
The six inch float arm from the new style Smidley 915FVF float and valve. It is the link between the float and the valve, and it is what sets how deep the trough fills.
Several float mounting points run along the arm, and each one carries a brass insert rather than bare poly, so the float threads into metal and the mounting point holds its thread through repeated changes.

Common questions
Why are there several mounting points?
So one arm covers more than one fill depth. Moving the float nearer the valve lowers the water level, further out raises it. Put the new float where the old one was and the fountain fills as it did before.
How many adjust screws does this arm take?
Two. They are sold separately as the Smidley valve adjust screw, so order a pair if yours are going back on tired.
Does the arm come with the float?
No, this is the arm on its own. The new style poly float is listed separately, and the complete new style assembly has the arm, float, screws and valve together.
What are the brass inserts for?
They give the float a metal thread to seat against at each mounting point instead of poly, which is what lets the same hole be used again after a float change.
Old style assembly?
This arm belongs to the new style. If your fountain runs the earlier pattern, start from the old style 915FVF float and valve or send us a photo and we will identify it.
