Pink Feeders Calf Feeders and Parts

The PF3 holds 4.5 gallons (17 L) and carries three teats. The PF5 holds 6.6 gallons (25 L) and carries five. Both are one piece UV protected poly, both ship complete with Skellerup Thriver calf teats and threaded adapters, and both include two metal J hook brackets for hanging on a rail, gate or fence panel. Choose by how many calves you want drinking at the same time.

One calf per teat. The PF3 feeds three at a time and the PF5 feeds five. Sizing the feeder to the group means every calf gets to the milk while it is still warm, instead of waiting a turn.

Both hold 8 quarts, two gallons (7.6 L), and both come with one black threaded Thriver calf teat. The reversible bucket has a teat opening on the front and another on the back, plus a stopper plug for the one you are not using, so it can hang on either side of a fence line. The single bucket has one opening.

Yes. Buckets ship with a threaded Thriver calf teat fitted, and the PF3 and PF5 trough feeders ship with a teat and a threaded adapter for every station, plus two mounting brackets. Nothing else is needed to put them into service.

The poly is UV stabilized, so it holds its color and its strength through a season in the sun. Like any plastic vessel it should be drained when temperatures drop below freezing, and the teats will last longer if they are rinsed and stored dry between feeding seasons.

The Thriver is the calf teat supplied with Pink Feeders equipment. It is molded in New Zealand from a soft, naturally antibacterial rubber, cut with a concave profile that resists dribbling, fitted with a removable one way valve, and scented with vanilla to encourage calves to latch on. It is made in pull through and threaded styles.

Pull through teats push through a plain hole and hold on their own flange, with no adapter needed. Threaded teats screw into a threaded seat or onto a bottle cap ring and cannot be pulled out sideways. If your feeder has a plain hole, order the pull through, or add the Pink Feeders two piece threaded adapter and run the threaded style.

Pull through Thriver teats suit openings of roughly 3/4 to 7/8 inch (20 to 21.5 mm). Threaded Thriver teats mount in a 7/8 inch (22 mm) opening with the Pink Feeders two piece threaded adapter, and thread straight into Pink Feeders buckets and bottle cap rings.

They fit most standard calf feeders, buckets and homemade barrel feeders built around 3/4 to 7/8 inch teat openings. If you are unsure, measure the opening and send us the number through our contact form and we will tell you which style to order.

The one way valve lifts out of the teat, so both pieces can be washed and rinsed separately and allowed to dry. Taking the valve out is what keeps milk residue from building up inside the teat, which is where most flow problems and sour smells start.

Grade A clear PVC tubing with a 3/8 inch (10 mm) outside diameter, sold here in 100 foot rolls. It fits snugly over a calf feeding check valve and matches the size the Thriver pull through teat is built around. Check valves are sold separately.

Yes. The cap ring, the complete cap with teat fitted, the pull vent from the bottle base and the teats themselves are all sold separately, so a worn bottle can be brought back into service for a few dollars instead of replaced.
