Hoskins Waterer Parts

(18 products)

Hoskins waterers are built to be worked on. The service door is large enough to get an arm through, the valve sits in its own insulated compartment, and almost everything that wears is brass or rubber and comes off with a wrench. These are the parts that keep one running.

What is on a Hoskins

Part Sizes What it does
Bob valve 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 in. The float valve that fills the tank. Size is set by the model, not by preference.
Float rod 4, 6 and 8 in. Joins the Bob valve to the float. The length is what sets your water level.
RM 153 valve and float assembly One size The complete valve used on the horse and hog models in place of a float rod.
RM 153 hose hookup One size Lets you fill and flush the unit from a hose.
Plunger 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 in. Meters the flow through the valve.
Rubber stopper 1 1/2 in. and 2 in. Plugs the drain. The 2 in. is used on cattle and sheep units, the 1 1/2 in. on horse and hog units.
Valve cover One size The insulated cover over the valve and float compartment.
Valve hookup One size Connects the unit to the supply line.
Heaters Models A, AA, B, C and multiples 250 W through 2,100 W depending on the unit. The element is mounted clear of the tank.

Matching a part to your unit

Valve size follows the model, so read the model number off the plate on the service door before ordering. As a rule of thumb: the 3/8 in. valve is on the horse, hog and smaller sheep units; the 1/2 in. on the 28, 36 and 48 in. cattle tanks and the SC48; the 3/4 in. on the 75, 95 and 120 in. cattle tanks and the SC84 and SC120.

Stopper size is simpler. Cattle and sheep units take the 2 in. stopper. Horse and hog units take the 1 1/2 in. The CH combination units take both, because they have a drain on each side.
