Part 189 is the valve repair kit for the grey 521, the 40 to 80 PSI valve fitted across the LilSpring, MiraFount, E-Fount and BigSpring ranges. Several parts and components in one box, so the valve goes back together in one order.

The ratchet and thumbscrew are the reason to buy the kit
Parts 342 and 343 — Miraco’s nylon ratchet and brass thumbscrew — are what hold the float arm at the height you set it. They are also the two pieces most likely to be missing, seized or stripped by the time a valve is off the unit. Having them in the box is the difference between finishing the job and waiting on a second order.
What the G means. The lower arm, plunger and lock pin in this kit carry a G suffix — 679G, 677G, 681G. Miraco uses the letter to mark the valve colour, so the G parts are the grey ones and the same numbers with a B are the blue. If you are working from an old invoice or a mixed parts drawer, that letter is the thing to check.
Grey, not blue. The older blue body is the 521B and takes the 186 instead, which carries low and high pressure orifice changes this kit does not. Look at the colour of the valve body first.
Repair or replace? If the body is sound and it is the internals that are worn, the kit is the inexpensive route. If the body is damaged, the complete valve is the grey 521.
