The 4-inch PVC standpipe for Tusker livestock waterers, carried under part numbers 510 and 352.
What a standpipe actually does. It is the vertical column the water supply line runs up inside. The pipe protects the line and gives the valve something to mount against; the line then turns into the valve with a 525 or 526 elbow, depending on the size your unit takes. If you have worked on a Miraco waterer the arrangement will be familiar, same idea, Tusker’s own part.
Order the elbow with it
A standpipe on its own does not connect to anything. The fitting that joins the supply line to the valve is the 525 or the 526 elbow, and the two are different sizes. If you are replacing the standpipe, you are usually better off renewing that elbow at the same time rather than reusing one that has been cut loose.
When to replace it. A cracked or crushed standpipe is worth changing while the unit is open, because getting back to it later means digging the pad side out again.
