Valve cover lid, C-Models
Every Hoskins cattle tank from the 28 in. up to the 120 in. uses the same valve cover lid. It is the galvanized panel that closes the top of the valve housing, and on a cattle unit it is the one thing standing between a thousand pound animal and the valve underneath.
Hoskins puts it plainly on their own parts page: the valve cover protects and insulates the Bob valve and the float, and it takes damage from animals and from age. The lid is the galvanized top panel of that cover, the piece you lift off to get at the valve, and it is usually the first part of the housing to go.

Lids are sized by model, not by eye
The Hoskins lids look very similar across the range and several are within an inch of each other. Order by the model number stamped on your waterer rather than by measuring the old one, and if your waterer is a build with a VOE or VIC designation, that matters too.
Need the whole cover?
If the body of the valve cover is damaged and not just the lid, the matching valve cover is listed separately. The two are sold as separate parts so you only replace what has actually failed.
