Description
Description
Recommended to give your drain pipe added protection against the heating elements. Standard in both Omni 1, Omni 2 units and Omni-2 Special units.
What Ritchie says about this guard. Ritchie gives the 17500 as 2 inches by 6.5 inches (5.1 cm by 16.5 cm) and recommends it for added protection of the drain pipe against the heating elements. They list it for the OmniFount 1, OmniFount 2 and OmniFount 2 Special.
Why Ritchie offers a guard at all
In a heated OmniFount the drain pipe runs near the heating elements. The 17500 is the piece Ritchie supplies to keep the two apart. It is an add-on rather than a part of the original build, so a unit that never had one can still take one.
The rest of the small OmniFount drain
- 17500 drain pipe guard – this part
- 11471 drain pipe – OmniFount 1, 2 and 2 Special
- 18075 drain washers – two per drain, sold separately
