Seven hundred watts on 120 volts. Hoskins steps up to the C700 at four feet of trough, on the C48 cattle tanks and on the SC48 and SC84 sheep troughs.
Where 500 watts runs out
The C28 and C36 sit on the B500. From the C48 up, and on the SC48 and SC84 sheep troughs, Hoskins fits the 700 watt C element instead. Match the heater code on your spec plate, not the tank size.

Before winter, not during it
An element that has failed is only found out when the water is already freezing. Check it in the autumn: power on, element warm, thermostat cycling, and the ground tested. It is a short job in October and a miserable one in January.
