Description
The JUG Stall Waterer was designed with your horse in mind. The durable rotomolded plastic construction features rounded edges for animal safety and a stainless steel bite plate to prevent damage from cribbing.
The same clean, freshwater technology of the JUG ground-mounted, stand-alone models is offered in the Stall units. The waterer has a 2-gallon reservoir capacity for your animals and a quick recovery float valve.
TIP
There is a slight mark on each bowl that shows the suggested level of water to have in each unit.
The Stall Waterer has an external drain plug and a float adjustment screw to aid in ease of maintenance, cleaning, and water level management.
The Stall Waterer features a versatile installation allowing you to run the waterline from below or overhead. The overhead application will require a small drill to drill a small access hole into the back corner of the unit and plumb in your water from the top.
INSTALLATION
There are a number of waterline hook-up options when placing an Energy Free 303 in a heated barn or in a warm climate area. The waterline can come from underneath either on its own or through a riser tube but commonly comes to the 303 overhead as shown in the picture to the left.

The JUG 303 Stall Fount Flush Mount Unheated (Model 13313) is an energy free automatic horse waterer that delivers clean water on demand, no flap-lifting or float-ball-pushing required. Its patented Draw Tube/Feed Trap design keeps bedding and debris out of the 2-gallon reservoir, so horses see and drink open water naturally. With no heater to power, it's a low-maintenance fit for warmer climates or already-heated barns, and pairs with an uninsulated riser tube so you're not paying for insulation you don't need. Rotomolded poly construction, rounded edges, and a stainless bite guard round it out, with the corner mount leaving just a smooth edge exposed in the stall.

What's the difference between the JUG 303 Flat Back and the Corner Mount version?
Both use the same internal Draw Tube/Feed Trap system, but they mount differently. The Corner Mount (CM) fits into a 90-degree stall corner with only a smooth, rounded edge exposed. The Flat Back (FB) — this one — mounts flush against a single flat wall, which makes it the better fit if your stall layout doesn't give you a clean corner to work with, or if you're retrofitting an existing barn.

Yes. You may choose to purchase the riser tube to protect your waterline should you be running it under the unit which is sold separately. You may also want to purchase the wall anchors but ensure that they meet y the depth of your stall wall. If you believe that your waterline is subject to freezing below ground, consider using an earth tube.

How much water does it hold, and is that enough for my horse (or multiple horses)?
The reservoir holds 2 gallons, but because it's fed by a float valve connected to your water line, it refills automatically as your horse drinks, it's not a static bowl you're relying on to hold a day's supply. One unit is designed to serve one stall/horse; if you're watering several horses you'd want one JUG per stall rather than sharing.

How much maintenance does this actually need?
Less than you'd expect. The Feed Trap keeps hay and feed debris from falling into the reservoir, which is the main thing that fouls automatic waterers over time. For periodic cleaning, there's an external drain plug so you can flush the tank without disassembling the unit.
