Description

Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for shipping

These waterers are built at the factory as they are ordered, so plan on two to three weeks from the time the order goes in.

The MC32N is the unheated steel drinker for hogs, built to water up to 150 head. Set it in a fence line and it serves two pens off one waterer, which is the usual reason people choose this shape.

The lids are the working part of it. They keep dirt and bedding out, and in cold weather they hold what heat the water has instead of letting it off the top. Mud grates in the trough keep the water cleaner than it would otherwise stay in a hog pen.

Insulation is where Brower spends the money. The foam is extra thick, with an R value of 7.14 per inch, and the polyurethane is poured so it clings tight around the trough and the jacket rather than sitting loose in a cavity. It is water resistant, so it does not slowly waterlog and stop insulating. It is also unattractive to rodents and carries no formaldehyde and no chlorofluorocarbons.

This unit is not heated

The MC32N has no heating element. In freezing country it wants either a heated model or an added heater, and the insulation and the lids are what carry it the rest of the way.

The Same Drinker, Minus the Heater

Everything that makes the MC32E last in a hog barn, the heavy gauge steel, the stainless bit and wear guards, the valve compartment you can get a hand into, without the heater you do not need in a barn that stays above freezing. If that changes later, heat can be added rather than buying a second drinker.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the MC32N freeze?

In a barn that drops below freezing, yes. It has no heater. It suits closed barns that hold temperature from the animals themselves. If you have had drinkers freeze in that building before, buy the MC32E instead.

Can I add a heater to it later?

Yes. The 77Assy space heater fits the MC and MJ metal drinkers. Email us with your model and we will confirm the right part.

Why steel rather than poly?

Hogs chew and rub at anything in the pen. Steel survives that where plastic eventually cracks. If you are replacing poly drinkers more often than you would like, this is the reason to switch.

How many hogs will it water?

Up to 150 head. The limit in practice is how many come to drink at once after feeding rather than the trough itself.

How does it ship?

It ships by UPS at a shipping weight of 42 pounds. Please allow up to 2 weeks for shipping. Pickup is available in Houghton, Iowa.
