With proper installation and functioning electricity and heaters, No. EcoFount units are designed with a thermostatically controlled heating system and cable heater that keep both the water and supply lines from freezing—even in severe winter conditions.
As with anything in extreme winter conditions, there is realistically always the potential for freezing. Check your heaters each season to ensure that they are functioning and repair and replace if needed.
