Description

The Kane Snap Feeders are built to make supplemental feeding baby pigs simple, efficient, and low-waste. Designed for use in farrowing crates and creep areas, these round feeders attach easily to all types of nursery flooring with a spring-loaded J-hook and feature a water-tight trough that holds dry feed or milk replacer without spilling.

The low profile model (2¾″) is ideal for early-weaned piglets, while the standard model (4″ tall) suits slightly larger piglets. The open, round design lets piglets feed from all sides, helping encourage natural feeding behavior and easy access for multiple youngsters at once. Kane Snap Feeders are rugged, easy to install or remove, and help reduce wasted feed with a feed-saver lip and grate.

Care Instructions

  • Rinse the feeder after each use with warm water and mild soap to remove feed residue.
  • Wipe dry or allow to air dry before re-use to prevent mold and spoilage.
  • For deeper sanitation, scrub with a soft brush; avoid harsh chemicals that could degrade plastic or metal parts.
  • Periodically inspect the J-hook and spring assembly for wear or corrosion and replace hardware as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Kane Manufacturing known for?

Kane Manufacturing is best known for producing livestock equipment designed to improve animal care and productivity, especially in swine, poultry, and livestock operations. Their most popular products include heat mats, sorting panels, feeders, and waterers, all designed to help farmers keep animals warm, fed, and comfortable.

Why are Kane heat mats so popular in hog operations?

Kane heat mats are widely used because they provide consistent, energy-efficient heat directly under piglets, which helps reduce stress and improve growth. Unlike heat lamps, they:

  • Deliver even heat across a large surface
  • Help prevent piglet piling and crowding
  • Are up to 80% more efficient than heat lamps

This results in healthier pigs, better weight gain, and improved survival rates—which is why they’re a go-to in farrowing setups.

What makes Kane products different from other livestock equipment brands?

Kane products stand out for being:

  • Energy efficient → lower operating costs
  • Durable → built with high-quality materials like polyethylene
  • Designed for productivity → focused on improving animal performance

They are engineered specifically for real farm conditions, making them a trusted choice for both family farms and large-scale operations.

What types of animals and operations use Kane Manufacturing products?

Kane products are used across a wide range of operations, including:

  • Swine (farrowing, nursery, finishing)
  • Poultry operations
  • Sheep and goats
  • Cattle and livestock facilities

They are designed to support heating, feeding, watering, and sorting, making them versatile across multiple livestock environments.

Where are Kane Manufacturing products made?

Kane Manufacturing products are designed and manufactured in the USA, with operations based in Perry, Iowa.

This U.S.-based manufacturing is a key advantage for producers looking for reliable, long-lasting farm equipment built for American agriculture.
