Warranty

Ritchie warrants its waterers against manufacturing defect for ten years, with coverage depending on how the unit is built.

Poly units: the base, top and ball closures carry a ten year limited warranty, covered at 100 percent for the first five years, then declining 20 percent per year through the remaining five years.

Stainless steel units: the stainless trough and stainless valve chamber frame carry a ten year limited warranty, plus ten years of corrosion coverage, at 100 percent for the entire ten year period.

Parts, such as floats, valves and heating elements, are warranted for one year from the date of purchase, at 100 percent against manufacturing defect.

Description

The Classic Equine by Ritchie StallFount puts clean water in the corner of the stall and keeps it there, heated, all winter. It is the heated model, part 18740, and it is what barns buy when they are tired of carrying buckets twice a day.

The corner mount is the point. It tucks into the angle of the stall where a horse is less likely to catch a hip on it, and it does not eat a run of wall you wanted for a feeder. The removable stainless steel cover sits over the trough to stop chewing, and it lifts straight off when you want full access for cleaning.

Heat is built in. A 125 watt heater runs under a disc thermostat and a 48 watt cable heater protects the line, so a horse in an unheated barn still has drinkable water in February. The fully insulated casing stands up to rugged use and helps keep water cooler through summer.

The 1 1/2 inch adjustable drain plug empties the trough for cleaning without taking the unit off the wall. A shroud covers the plumbing underneath if you want a finished look, in 20 inch and 30 inch, both sold separately.

Serves one horse. 1 gallon capacity, 16.5 inches square by 12 inches tall, with an adjustable drinking height. The polyethylene carries a 10 year warranty.
