Stainless Steel Float Rod

Hoskins 4 in. float rod

A fully threaded stainless steel rod that joins the Bob valve to the float. Stainless matters here: the rod lives half in and half out of the water, which is exactly where a plated rod gives up.

Rod length is your water level

This is not a part to substitute. The rod length is what decides how high the tank fills, so a 6 in. rod in place of an 8 in. puts the water at the wrong height. The 4 in. rod is used on one pair of models only, the HC17 horse waterers. Nothing else in the Hoskins catalogue runs it.

Specifications

Length: 4 in.

Material: stainless steel

Thread: full length

Which Hoskins units take it

Hoskins HC17-16

Hoskins HC17-26

While you are in there

If the rod is coming out, look at the float and the valve at the same time.
